Tizen está promovido por LiMo Foundation y Linux Foundation y liderado por Intel y Samsung enfocando sus esfuerzos en ofrecer un entorno de desarrollo basado en HTML5 que se adapte distintos tipos de hardware. Su primera publicación se espera para el primer cuatrimestre de 2012.
